How do I clean my carpet / rug?

I used one of these machines to clean a carpet and left all the streaks. I begin again when it is dry and does not use the machine .. if someone can tell me what cleaner to use or have any advice or suggestions. Any help appreciated. How to clean your carpet / rug?

If they can clean the extractor still very good. I used a clean proffesionaly own and hood. If you do not have a hood cleaner, then spot treat only areas that are dirtier. You can also get a little detergent laundry and add a small bucket. Add enough water until it is slippery. Then turn around and dirty areas Scrubb a steady hand, who are the worst. This is called an in situ treatment. Then, the empty areas with hood. I think that aspect is removed becaue of the way you pull the rod through the carpet. You want more fiber to stand up and not flat. This reduces the drying time. If I back in the tube the opposite direction to lay the fibers are causing them to stand up and look fluffy. If you go in the opposite direction which will look flat. Oh, and do not add water boiling parts of the machine are plastic and seals on equipment that was damaged by hot water. Use warm but not boiling …
